Folsom Officials

The Village of  Folsom's Board consist of a mayor and three aldermen who are elected every four years. Our current mayor and aldermen were re-elected during the September 30, 2006 election.  They will begin their new terms in January 2007. 

 

Mayor Phillip Bickham is a 49 year old native of Folsom, Louisiana, where he was born and raised. He attended Folsom Elementary, Folsom Jr. High, and later graduated from Covington High School.  He and his wife, Melissa Bickham has been married for 19 years and together they have five children. Mr. Bickham is a gulf war veteran where he served in the United States Army and was deployed during Operation Desert Storm in Kuwait.  He served 12 years and was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant. 

 

He has worked as a construction supervisor for the last 20 years at Grady Crawford Construction Co., Inc.  He also pastors in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and coaches local sports teams in Folsom. 

 

Mr. Bickham was recently elected as the Mayor of Folsom.  Mr. Bickham has stated that his top priority is to operate government with honesty and integrity while being fiscally responsible.  He also said that public safety is important to the Village of Folsom therefore, it is also his priority to maintain an effective and dedicated Village Police Department.  In doing so, Folsom will continue to have safe schools and neighborhoods for its children.  Additionally, he vows to support the Village Maintenance Department in order to continue giving clean water, safe sewer, and better roads and drainage.  Mr. Bickham proclaims that he is not a Politian, just a hard working man, father, and husband.  It is his goal to KEEP the Village of Folsom the great place that we all love!

 

 

Alderman Lance Willie was born and raised in Folsom, Louisiana. He graduated from Covington High School in 2003. He went on to obtain a degree in Criminal Justice from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana.

 

Alderman Willie was a court appointed mentor from 2004 through 2007 and was

chosen Mentor of the Year in 2007. He spends much time and takes great pride in raising his 2 year old daughter Chloe Willie. He is currently employed with Tulane Primate Center. Alderman Willie loves the community of Folsom and says he is ready and excited to back Folsom 100%, cause “Folsom is Family!”

 

 

Alderman Donald Burris is a 56 year old native of Folsom, Louisiana. Mr. Burris is self-employed as a landscape contractor and also serves as Pastor of the Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church in Mandeville, Louisiana. He is very active in the community at large in many different capacities.

 

He serves as the moderator of the Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Association in

Mandeville, Louisiana, currently serves on a number of Executive Boards, was former

Justice of the Peace, Ward Two, was former St. Tammany Parish School Board Member just to name a few. Mr. Burris is looking forward to serving his native community in the capacity of Alderman.

 

Alderwoman Jill Mathies is a 41 years old and has lived in St. Tammany Parish since her early childhood. She completed her education at Covington High School. Jill is married to Folsom native, John Mathies and together they raise their four children: Ryan, Susan, Colleen and Julie.

Alderwoman Mathies is presently employed by Ochsner Healthcare System as a nurse. She has been practicing in the nursing field for the past 17 years.

She and her family are active members of the First Baptist Church of Folsom.

As a newly elected official of the Village of Folsom, Alderwoman Mathies’s desires to help create "positive" change while maintaining a family-oriented community; one in which all its residents can be proud to call home.

Alderwoman Mathies is grateful for the opportunity to serve the citizens of the Village of Folsom and would like to thank them for entrusting her with the task of working with the other elected officials to pursue the continued welfare of the "Great" community of Folsom.
