Folsom Officials
The Village of
Folsom's Board consist of a mayor and three aldermen who are
elected every four years. Our current mayor and aldermen were
re-elected during the September 30, 2006 election. They will
begin their new terms in January 2007.
Mayor Marshell
Brumfield, a native of Folsom, has been active on the
council since 1988. He is now serving his third term as Mayor
of the Village of Folsom. Mayor Brumfield is the first African
American elected mayor in St. Tammany Parish. Born and raised
here in Folsom, Mayor Brumfield graduated from Washington Parish
High School in 1975. He went on to further his education at
Southern University where he received a degree in Administration
and Accounting. He then attended Golden Gate University in San
Francisco for graduate school. Mayor Brumfield has four
children, Marcy, Shawn, Marshell Jr., and Brandon. He has 5
grandchildren and a loving and supportive wife, Carol.
Alderman
Ken Wilt
Originally from Louisville, Kentucky and
married for the past forty three years, Ken and his wife,
Beverly, have resided in St Tammany Parish for the last
seventeen years. They have two daughters. Their oldest, Amy
Prats, lives in Abita Springs with her husband, Erik and their
son Eli. Amy is a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University
with degrees in Psychology and Music Education. Their youngest
daughter, Jennifer is a resident of Mandeville and is also a
graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University with a degree in
Finance.
Ken was a
member of the United States Air Force from 1960 to 1964 serving
as a C- 130 Flight Engineer for the 61st Troop Carrier
Squadron. After his tour of duty, he was employed by Fairchild
Hiller Corporation as a Test Flight Engineer.
Returning
home, Ken worked for E.I. Dupont as a chemical operator for
several years before embarking on a career in the restaurant
business as a manager and part owner of a King’s Table Buffet in
Louisville and Nashville, Tennessee. In 1980 he joined the
Kentucky Fried Chicken Corporation and worked in various
positions for the next twenty three years. He was transferred to
Louisiana in 1990 as a Franchise Operations Specialist for
Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Georgia, and Tennessee
retiring in 2003.
Ken and
Beverly are members of Northshore Church of Christ with Ken
serving as an elder. He is President of the Annendell Homeowners
Association. Ken is an AARP volunteer for the Tax Aid Program
and recently became a poll worker and commissioner in charge of
the Erwin Fire Station Precinct 204. He also serves on the
Advisory Board of the St. Tammany Parish Fire District 5.

Alderman
Ronald Holliday Alderman Holliday is a lifelong
resident of Folsom, Louisiana where he was raised on a dairy
farm. He attended Folsom Elementary and Covington High Schools.
He later attended the LSU Police Academy and various other
Police schools. He also received several certifications related
to Infrastructure creation and improvement on behalf of the
Village of Folsom. Alderman Holliday is currently a member of
First Baptist Church of Folsom.
He is the proud father of
five children and six grandchildren; one son, Roman and
four daughters, Rondii,
Gladys, Gretchen and Rorrie. He is grandfather to six
beautiful grandchildren,
ages 2-14 years of age; being two girls, Bailey and Josie; and
four boys, Jace, Kolton, Ben and Blake. Ronnie was elected Chief
of Police five times from 1974 to 1995 when he retired. He was
elected Alderman in 2002 and is currently serving his 2nd
four-year term in that capacity.
He was the original
organizer of the Folsom Athletic Association and coached
football, basketball,
baseball and softball for over 20 years. He also found time to
coach summer slow pitch
teams and has a couple of State Championships to his
credit. Ronnie played
basketball, fast pitch and slow softball for many years in
numerous independent
leagues throughout the state of Louisiana.
Alderman Holliday has
held many different posts, some of which include being a
member of Lathers Local
No.62 in New Orleans, Louisiana; was a salesman for
Holliday Realty and
Patricia Swartz Realty, Inc.; owned and raced thoroughbred
horses, as well as,
owning and raising some cattle. He has attended several LMA
conventions for the purpose of establishing a network community
on behalf of the Village of Folsom. In his spare time, Alderman
Holliday enjoys attending his grandchildren’s ball games and is
an avid LSU fan in all sports. Ronnie loves the Village of
Folsom and has great concern for its residents’ welfare and
safety, thus his reason for being politically active in his
community, the Village of Folsom.
